A permit must be issued for all activities affecting migratory birds, with some exceptionsdetailed in the Regulations.The Act allows for the creation, management and protection of wildlife areas for wildlife researchactivities, or for conservation or interpretation of wildlife.To prevent wildlife species in Canada from disappearing and to provide for the recovery of wildlifespecies that are extirpated (no longer exist in the wild in Canada), endangered, or threatened as aresult of human activity, and to manage species of special concern to prevent them from becomingendangered or threatened.PROVINCIAL LEGISLATIONProtects the quality and quantity of Ontario's surface and ground water resources (includes Permits toTake Water).Protects the natural sources of drinking water.
