NIC Kerala has played asignificant role in the implementationof e-Governance in the State. Some ofthe significant e-Governance Projectsdeveloped and deployed in the Stateare as follows:E-DistrictA project that has won the prestigiousCSI-Nihilent award for e-Governancein 2012, it provides Governmentservices to citizens through CommonService Centers (CSC). The projectseamlessly delivers services to public byautomation, integration and boldlymaking changes in processes throughBusiness Process Re-engineering.Services currently covered are mainlypublic related like : Certificates issuedDIA Palakkad receiving the CSI-Nihilent 2011-2012 award for eDistrictfrom Taluk / Village Offices, localbodies, PDS services, RTI services,Grievance and complaints, UtilityPayments, Payments to Motor VehicleDept and Revenue court cases.Certificate services from Revenuedepartment have been implemented intwo pilot districts. About 12 lakhservices have been provided as on date.hsCAPnicThis is for the Centralized SeatAllotment Process for HigherSecondary Courses. There are about1500 higher secondary schools withabout 40 different combinations. Theeligible candidates need to give singleapplication form for applying in anyone of the schools in the district, withhis options in the order of preferences.The sequence of activities includespreparation of rank list for each schooland each course. Allotment process willbe done based on the seat availability,community reservation, rank and theoptions filed by the applicants.Allotment memo can be printed by theapplicants.e-Transport(http://www.keralamvd.gov.in)In Kerala, 100% computerization ofthe Department is achieved in all 65RTOs and Sub RTOs SRTOs includingRTO- National Sector, 19 Check-postsand Office of State Transport Authority.All RTOs/ SRTOs and STA areconnected to the SDC (State DataCentre) through KSWAN. Fishing vesselowners, coast guard, navy, coastalpolice; fisheries department , MPEDA,insurance agencies, state and unionministries are benefitted out of this.E-procurementGePNIC has been implemented inKerala PWD, PMGSY, 60 PSUs andKSEB. Around 2000 tenders worth1200 crores have been successfullysubmitted & processed. 1000 staff ofvarious departments and PSUs and1500 bidders have already beentrained.E-Procurement launch by the Hon’ble Minister forPWD, Govt. of Keralae-Officee-Office has been launched in KeralaState Planning Board and Spices boardErnakulum . Thelifting details entered by officials areautomatically transmitted as messagesto the registered mobile numbers.e-Hospital for AyurvedaKottakkal Ayurveda College, the firstayurvedic hospital in the country whichhas implemented the e-Hospital projectwith the help of NIC Agarthala sinceAugust 2012. The key features of e-Hospital@NIC are provide anintegrated solution for hospital andclinical needs.EMLI (Effective Management ofLetter of Credit Issuance)A web based applicationforautomating the Issuance of Letter ofCredit (LoC) based on the billssubmitted by the work executingdepartments. On an average, 30,000bills are being submitted every yearfrom 220 division offices of variousdepartments. Letter of Credits fornearly 2000 Crores are being issuedevery year using the application.Examination Management Systems(EMS)It is a comprehensive ExaminationManagement System developed forhandling various examinationsconducted by GOK. About 4 lakhscandidates appear every year in theseexaminations under various schemes.The system handles all activities likecandidate registration, resultprocessing, result publication andcertificate generation. Examinationscovered in EMS are SSLC, THSLC(Technical High School Class X), A-Level (Class X EquivalencyExamination), DHSE (Plus 2 / HigherSecondary), Vocational HigherSecondary, TTC (Teachers TrainingCourse), KGTE (Kerala GovernmentTechnical Examination).XLN implementation(eXtended Licensing Node)developed by NIC-Gujarat has beenimplemented for Drugs ControllerDepartment, GOK. The softwareautomates all activities related to retaildrugs sales licenses, drug testing etc.The main benefits include SMS alertsto stop sales of non-standard qualitydrugs tested in lab, stopping sales ofbanned drugs and transparency.SANDIt has bagged the CSI Nihilentaward of appreciation under projectcategory in 2011 .
