He is currentlyserving as the Senior Legal Adviser with the Secretariat of the Human Rights <strong>Review</strong>Panel, European Union Rule of Law Mission, EULEX, Kosovo.6. Mr Graham Heaslip is course director of the BBS (Hons) degree in Business andManagement in NUI Maynooth, and a supervisor on the MA (LMDS) run in conjunctionwith Military College. Graham’s research interests are broadly in the intersections betweenglobal logistics/supply chain management, humanitarian logistics and organisationalmanagement development. His research based teaching brings together themes of risk,resilience and complex systems theory with practical management disciplines such assupply chain management, operations management, quality management and businesscontinuity. His research and consultancy interests span mainstream commercial, defenceand other public service contexts examining supply chain management, operationsmanagement and quality management issues which impact on organisational effectivenessor innovative practices.7. Comdt Tim Daly is an Artillery officer with 27 years’ service. He holds a BSc in Mathsfrom UCG, a post graduate diploma in HR Management from UCC and a first classhonours MA (LMDS) from NUI (Maynooth). He graduated from the Command andStaff School in 2009. Comdt Daly has held a wide variety of home appointments at unit,brigade and DFHQ level and has served extensively overseas in the Middle East and inAfrica. He is currently a staff officer at Brigade Headquarters, 1 S Bde, Cork.8. Comdt Colm Ó Luasa is a serving professional military officer with 24 years service.He holds a B Comm (Hons) from the National University of Ireland (Galway) and a firstclass honours MA (LMDS) from the National University of Ireland (Maynooth). He isa graduate of the 65th Command and Staff Course and was awarded both the ‘GraidimTaighde na bhForsaí Cosanta’ – The <strong>Defence</strong> <strong>Forces</strong> Award for Excellence in thesisresearch and the Lt Col Sean Clancy Award for best result in the MA(LMDS) combiningboth military and academic education. He is currently serving in the <strong>Defence</strong> <strong>Forces</strong>Training Centre.9. Simon Deignan has recently completed a Masters in International Relations at DublinCity University and is currently working on a dissertation examining the influenceof international organisations on democratisation in Albania. He has over three yearsprofessional experience in the private sector both in Ireland and Australia, and is hopingto begin a career in International Affairs.10. Col Michael Beary joined the <strong>Defence</strong> <strong>Forces</strong> on 28 Nov 1973 and was commissionedinto the Infantry Corp. He has served overseas at the tactical and operational levels inSouth Lebanon, former Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan. He worked at the strategiclevel from 2004 to 2007 with the European Union Military Staff within the EU CouncilSecretariat in Brussels. He holds a BSc from NUIG, an MBS in Management andOrganisation Studies from the Smurfit School and in 2009 graduated with an MSc inNational Strategy from the National <strong>Defence</strong> University, Washington D.C. Col Beary iscurrently the Director of <strong>Defence</strong> <strong>Forces</strong> Training.
