Data ProtectionVCE Vblock System 320 Gen 3.1 ArchitectureOverviewMultiple VCE cabinets that contain EMC AvamarWhen the Vblock System to be backed up requires more than one EMC Avamar instance, the solution scalesup by simply adding additional EMC Avamar instances. The following illustration shows the rear view of the multiple VCE data protection cabinets with EMC Avamar:One VCE cabinet that contains EMC Avamar and EMC Data Domain 670ControllerThis solution is best used when the Vblock System will not require more than one cabinet of EMC Avamar andEMC Data Domain components to meet the backup requirements (single cabinet excluding the backupreplication system). The VCE backup and recovery solution that contains EMC Avamar and EMC Data Domain 670 Controller inone VCE cabinet has EMC Avamar switches, Cisco Nexus 5548UP Switches, a minimum of one EMC DataDomain 670 Controller, one EMC ES30 expansion (storage) shelf, three EMC Avamar data nodes, and oneEMC Avamar utility node. This solution includes built-in networking and two external connection cables to theVblock System. It contains three expansion spaces providing room for an additional head unit, an additionalstorage unit, and an additional ten nodes in any combinations of data notes and accelerator nodes. The CiscoNexus 5548UP Switch connects the data protection cabinet to the Vblock System. When you add additionalcomponents in the available expansion area, add components starting from the bottom of the cabinet.52 © 2013 VCE Company, LLC.All Rights Reserved.
