The choice between IRS and ITN/LLIN will be determined by operational criteria (remote areaswhich are hard to conduct IRS)The choice of insecticide for IRS will be according to information on insecticide resistance;pyrethroids are best avoided as they are used in ITN/LLINs.Net distribution will be at the rate of one net per 2.5 persons and based on the need assessment ineach family.It is preferable to use LLINs instead of reimpregnation of bed nets and therefore all efforts will beaimed at phasing out existing ITNs with LLINs; till the time there is complete replacement of all bednets with LLINs, reimpregnation of ITNs will continue.40
