Euro NCAP has not assessed theswitch or the information presented to the driver regarding the status of the passenger airbag. Without the switch, arearward-facing child restraint should not be used in the front passenger's seat. The presence of ISOFIX anchorages inthe second row outboard seats was not prominently marked.The S-MAX has a seatbelt reminder for the driver and passenger's seats. The system met Euro NCAP's requirements.The protection offered by the bumper to a pedestrian's leg was rated predominantly 'fair'.
