<strong>NBE</strong> <strong>CME</strong> <strong>programme</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>DNB</strong> <strong>consultants</strong>Group work-III, Development of short structured questions and MCQsGroup TaskThe participants would be divided into groups and each participant would complete the task ofdevelopment of short structured questions and MCQs <strong>for</strong> <strong>DNB</strong> candidatesPlease work individually and complete the Exercise-7 as follows:‣ List the advantages and disadvantages of essay type questions, short structured questionsand MCQs <strong>for</strong> assessment of per<strong>for</strong>mance of <strong>DNB</strong> candidates in <strong>DNB</strong> accredited hospitals/institutions.‣ List out five short structured questions which you think a <strong>DNB</strong> candidates can attempt in15 minutes. Please also develop key elements <strong>for</strong> these questions indicating score <strong>for</strong>each of these key elements, on the <strong>for</strong>mat given to you.‣ Please develop Five MCQs <strong>for</strong> <strong>DNB</strong> candidate in your speciality on the given <strong>for</strong>mat.‣ After completing the exercise individually discuss your issues in the group with the help ofgroup facilitator.Please work individually and complete the Exercise-8 as follows:‣ Please refer to the theory and practical <strong>DNB</strong> and MD/MS examination and list merits anddemerits of both the streams.‣ List out the competencies required in an examiner <strong>for</strong> objective and unbiased assessmentof the per<strong>for</strong>mance of student in Theory and practical examination.‣ Please refer to the theory question attempted by candidates given to you and grade theper<strong>for</strong>mance of these candidates ( Maximum score is 10 marks <strong>for</strong> each question) andgive reasons <strong>for</strong> giving the marks.After completing the exercise individually discuss your issues in the group with the help ofgroup facilitator.34
