Wehave just turned back the clock so the evenings getdark earlier and for many this means that for themthey are shut in. It is also a month when the worldspends time remembering those who are no longerwith us. We hold Services of Remembrance on the11th November to remember those who gave theirlives so that we can live in peace.Those connected with the church usually hold aService of Remembrance on the Sunday nearest tothe day as well and this year there will joint serviceon the 13th November at the United ReformedChurch at 9:45 am followed by the service on theHeath at 10:45am.For those of us fascinated by numbers this is aunique year as the Remembrance Day Service willbe held at the 11th hour on the 11th Day in the11th Month in 2011.For those who have lost loved ones it will be nomore special that any of the others, it will be just aspainful as memories of times spent together willcome flooding back.Once in a while our lives are touched by someonevery special. Someone who looks at life throughdifferent glasses but also has the gift of enablingothers to see something of what they see. Some ofthose special people may have been members of ourfamilies, some of them may have been colleagues,others are people we just happen to have met. Theychallenged us, encouraged us and held us whentimes were hard. Now they are no longer there, forwhatever reason, and we miss them terribly.Jesus had the same ability.
