Marking is the responsibilityof the transport aviation unit.(4) Supporting transport aviation units willassist in the planning for and execution ofloading by providing technical advice andsupervision.(5) It is the pilot's responsibility to see thatthe aircraft is safe for flight. The troopcommander will supervise its loading.(6) Cargo or equipment to be transported externally will be secured in cargo nets or slungin pallets for transit by use of the cargosling on the helicopter, or rigged for attachment to bomb shackles on fixed-wing aircraft. Attachment of these loads to the aircraft will be accomplished by personnel otherthan those listed as passengers.(7) When loading personnel or cargo into an aircraft, the troop commander will insure that:(a) All of the safety measures prescribed formovement in and about the particular typeaircraft are observed.(b) In loading helicopters all personnel willapproach the helicopter from the directionof the nose so that the pilot can see themapproaching.(£) In loading helicopters no persons will gonear the tail rotor,(d) In loading helicopters all personnel andequipment will be kept well below the arcof the main rotor.(
