The Rockets then drove tothe NIU 40-yard line in the waning seconds but ran out oftime.The game was an epic battle of scoring, records and unusualplays. NIU began the game with back-to-back kickoffreturns for touchdowns, setting the tone for the contest.Junior WR Eric Page caught nine passes for 149 yards andtied the MAC record for touchdown receptions with five(set by Marshall’s Randy Moss). Senior RB Adonis Thomasrushed for 160 yards and two TDs, both of them in thefourth quarter, including UT’s last score with 4:16 left thatput the Rockets up at the time, 60-56.The combined 123 points between the two schools seta Glass Bowl record. Toledo had 589 yards of total offense,while NIU countered with 532.GAME NOTESUT suffered only its third loss in 21 games against NIU in theGlass Bowl...Toledo tallied a season-high eight touchdowns, tiedfor fourth-most in a game in school history, and finished with aseason-best 60 points...The Rockets’ point total is the most in aloss in school history, topping the previous mark of 54 points vs.Fresno State on Sept. 20, 2008...UT and NIU combined to score aGlass Bowl-record 123 points, surpassing the previous mark of 109points between the Rockets (55) and Fresno State (54) in 2008....They also combined for a MAC single-game record 17 touchdowns(UT 8, NIU 9) and 1,121 combined yards, ninth-most in MAC history...UT’s60 points scored is the second-most in MAC history ina losing effort, surpassed only by 62 points from Eastern Michiganvs. Akron in 2001...Junior WR Eric Page caught nine passes for 150yards and tied the MAC single-game record with five TD catches,equalling Marshall’s Randy Moss effort vs. Ball State in 1997...Page also equaled the school record with those five TDs with fourother Rockets...Page moved into sole possession of second placein school history with 24 career TD catches and became only thesecond player in UT annals to surpass 3,000 yards receiving (3,078yards)...Senior RB Adonis Thomas returned to the starting lineupand carried the ball a career-high 25 times for a season-best 160yards and two scores.

You score 66 pointsand win…barely.A week after Toledo lost to Northern Illinois 63-60, theToledo Rockets outlasted Western Michigan, 66-63, in theGlass Bowl on Tuesday night in one of the most incredibleoffensive displays since, well, last week.In the final game in the Glass Bowl for Toledo’s 20seniors, offensive records of all shapes and sizes were shattered.The contest took 4:16 to play and ended well pastmidnight. The two teams combined for a MAC record1,439 yards of offense, a MAC record for touchdowns with18 and set a Glass Bowl record with 123 points.The issue was not settled until Toledo recovered an onsidekick with 1:01 to play. The Rockets thought they hadthe victory socked away when Jeremiah Detmer booted a39-yard field goal with 1:51 to play to put the Rockets up,66-56. But the Broncos scored just 50 seconds later to givethemselves one last try to extend the contest.GAME NOTESToledo set a school record with 37 first downs...804 yards of offenseranked second all-time...66 points scored ranked fourth most...Nine TDs scored tied for second-most)...UT and WMU combinedto score a MAC and Glass Bowl record 129 points, as well as aleague record 18 touchdowns and 1,439 combined yards...AdonisThomas rushed for a collegiate-best 216 yards, the 12th-most inschool history...He also caught five passes for 77 yards and onescore... Eric Page caught a game-high 10 passes for 68 yards andpassed Stephen Williams (3,102, 2006-09) for the top spot in schoolhistory in career receiving yardage (3,144 yards) with a six-yardreception in the second quarter...Terrance Owens completed 22-of-27 for a career-high 318 yards and three TD passes...MorganWilliams rushed the ball 10 times for 76 yards and two TDs..Senior TE Jerome Jones tied his career high with three catchesfor a collegiate-best 69 yards, including a 23-yard TD reception inthe first quarter...Senior WR Kenny Stafford tallied a career-long75-yard reception in the third quarter. Stafford finished the gamewith three receptions for a career-best 91 yards. His 75-yard catchtied his career-long effort set against Colorado Sept. 11, 2009...DanMolls tied for the team lead with 11 stops, including two fumblerecoveries, one tackle-for-loss and one breakup.
