ROCKETS AMONG THE NATION-AL LEADERSThe Rockets were among the nationalleaders in numerous statisticalcategories in 2011. Among them:• WR Eric Page ranked in the top 25nationally in four categories: secondin receptions (9.6/game), fifth in allpurposeyardage (172.6), 19th in puntreturn average (10.9) and 25th in receivingyards (90.9).• QB Terrance Owens ranked fifth inpassing efficiency (169.2), 15 spotsahead <strong>of</strong> Austin Dantin (149.7), whoranked 21st.• Adonis Thomas ranked 17th in rushingyards per game (107.1).• Desmond Marrow tied for fifth with18 passes defended (15 breakups, threeinterceptions).• As a team, the Rockets ranked eighthin scoring <strong>of</strong>fense (42.2), 10th in total<strong>of</strong>fense, (481.3), eighth in passing efficiency(160.4), tied for sixth for fewestturnovers (14), third in turnover margin(+1.2), tied for sixth for fewest sacks allowed(10) and tied for sixth in red-zoneconversions (92.5%).LEADERS OF THE MAC<strong>Toledo</strong> ranked No. 1 in the MAC inscoring <strong>of</strong>fense, total <strong>of</strong>fense, passing efficiency,punt returns, turnover margin,third-down conversion and red-zoneconversion.DAN MOLLS BACK IN TOPFORMLinebacker Dan Molls made quitean impact following his return to thelineup on Oct. 22. He finished the seasonwith 70 tackles, and ranked third inthe MAC with 10.0 tackles per game.Molls was named MAC West DivisionDefensive Player <strong>of</strong> the Week forhis performance in the Northern Illinoisgame on Nov. 1, racking up a seasonhigh17 tackles.A week later against WMU, Mollstied for the team lead with 11 stops,adding two fumble recoveries, one<strong>2012</strong> <strong>Toledo</strong> Notestackle-for-loss and one breakup.Molls was credited with 11 tacklesvs. CMU on Nov. 18, and nine tacklesand a fumble recovery vs. BSU on Nov.25. He led UT with 12 tackles in theMilitary Bowl before coming out in thethird quarter with a concussion.Molls had missed six games with aleg injury before returning to the startinglineup vs. Miami on Oct. 22. Hewas a third-team All-MAC selection in2010 when he was 10th in the nationwith 143 tackles.DETMER PERFECT FROM 50PK Jeremiah Detmer was 5-<strong>of</strong>-6 onhis field goal attempts in his freshmanseason in 2011. He made two kicks <strong>of</strong>at least 50 yards, both as time expiredat the end <strong>of</strong> the first half.Detmer nailed a 50-yarder at the end<strong>of</strong> the first half vs. CMU on Nov. 18.He also converted a 52-yard field goalon the final play <strong>of</strong> the opening half inthe Syracuse game in his first collegiatefield-goal attempt. Detmer’s 52-yardboot is the second-longest in school history,trailing only Todd France’s 55-yardkick vs. Western Michigan on Nov. 6,2001.Detmer shared field-goal duties withsenior Ryan Casano, who made 10-<strong>of</strong>-13kicks.LINDEMAN NOMINATED FORBURLSWORTH TROPHYOffensive lineman A.J. Lindemanwas one <strong>of</strong> 50 players nominated forThe Burlsworth Trophy.The Trophy is given to the mostoutstanding football player in Americawho began his career as a walk-on.A walk-on is defined as a player whobegan his first season <strong>of</strong> participationwith a Division I (FBS) football programwithout financial aid <strong>of</strong> any kind fromhis university’s athletic department.Lindeman, a 6-6, 300-pound <strong>of</strong>fensivetackle, walked on at <strong>Toledo</strong> in2008 and eventually earned a scholarshipin 2010. He played in every gameas a back-up right tackle as a junior in2011. He has a 3.457 grade-point averagein engineering and was a nomineefor CoSIDA Academic All-America thisseason.The Trophy is named in honor <strong>of</strong>former Arkansas <strong>of</strong>fensive linemanBrandon Burlsworth. A one-time walkon,Burlsworth was selected as the 63rdoverall pick by the Indianapolis Colts inthe 1999 NFL draft, but was tragicallykilled in a car accident 11 days later.FILLING THE BOWLThe Rockets averaged 22,157 fansin 2011 with over 20,000 in four <strong>of</strong> theirsix home games. The Glass Bowl <strong>of</strong>ficialseating capacity is 26,248.ROCKETS SET SEASON TICKETRECORD WITH 11,791UT sold a record 11,791 seasontickets in 2011, breaking the record <strong>of</strong>11,005 set in 2010.
