The win gave UT a share <strong>of</strong> the MAC West Divisioncrown with Northern Illinois with a 7-1 league mark.Senior Eric Page caught a career-high 16 passes for 145yards and set the UT record for receptions in a season (112)to lead a Rocket team that arrived at Scheumann Stadiumnot knowing if their battle with Ball State would be for ashot at the league title. But just about as the UT-BSU gamegot underway, the NIU-Eastern Michigan ended with theHuskies holding on to a an 18-12 victory, clinching a share<strong>of</strong> the division title and a trip to the MAC ChampionshipGame vs. Ohio on Dec. 2. NIU secured the nod over UTthanks to its 63-60 win over the Rockets on Nov. 1.<strong>Toledo</strong> still had a lot to play for, though, namely a bowlberth. The MAC has three automatic bowl tie-ins and acouple <strong>of</strong> other back-up possibilities, so an eighth win wasimportant to the Rockets to help their chances for post-seasonplay.The Rockets mostly dominated the action, outgainingBall State in total yardage, 507-395. Sophomore TerranceOwens completed his first 14 passes <strong>of</strong> the game and endedup 27-<strong>of</strong>-32 for 267 yards and a career-high tying four TDs.Senior Adonis Thomas led the ground attack with 141 yardson 25 carries.GAME NOTESThe win gave UT back-to-back 7-1 MAC seasons for the first timein school history. The last time UT dropped fewer than two conferencegames over a two-year span was in 1970 and 1971 when itwas 10-0-0 (5-0 in each season)....UT set a school record with itsfifth straight game scoring 40 or more points. The previous mark<strong>of</strong> four was set in 2004...Eric Page set a school record in the firstquarter when he caught his 104th pass <strong>of</strong> the season...Page’s 16catches are the second most in school history, trailing only NickMoore’s 20 receptions vs. Michigan in 2008. He also is now tiedwith Lance Moore (2001-04) for most career touchdown receptionswith 25 and ranks second for most touchdown catches in a seasonwith 10 (behind Moore’s total <strong>of</strong> 14 in 2004)...Page now has 112catches for 1,123 yards for the season, ranking first- and fifth-bestin UT’s single-season record book, respectively....Adonis Thomastopped the century mark for a fourth-consecutive game and 10thtime in his UT career.
