DISCIPLINE HEARINGS, September 14, 2009THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SEMINOLE COUNTYThe School Board of Seminole County convened on Monday, September 14, 2009, for thepurpose of conducting discipline hearings. Board member, Ms. Sylvia Pond, was presentto hear the recommendations. Mr. Gene Grace was also present.ADMINISTRATIVE ASSIGNMENTSNames of students numbered 1-5 were provided to the attending board member.Recommendation to the Board: That the Administrative Assignment Agenda be approvedas presented. Student No. 5 will be re-evaluated for school transition after the firstsemester or he is to remain at Journeys until June 2010.DISCIPLINE HEARINGSMs. Sylvia Pond asked the parents/guardians in attendance for students numbered 1-4 onthe discipline hearing agenda whether they wanted an open or closed hearing.All the parents/guardians in attendance requested closed hearings.EXPULSION OF STUDENT NO.1–SEMINOLE HIGH SCHOOLSuperintendent’s Recommendation: That STUDENT NO. 1 –SEMINOLE HIGH SCHOOL beexpelled and fully excluded from Seminole High School and all Seminole County Public Schoolsthrough June 2010.Recommendation to the Board: That STUDENT NO.1 - SEMINOLE HIGH SCHOOL be assignedto Journeys Academy through June 2010.EXPULSION OF STUDENT NO.2–LAKE HOWELL HIGH SCHOOLSuperintendent’s Recommendation: That STUDENT NO. 2 –LAKE HOWELL HIGH SCHOOL beexpelled and fully excluded from Lake Howell High School and all Seminole County PublicSchools through January 2010.Recommendation to the Board: That STUDENT NO.2 – LAKE HOWELL HIGH SCHOOL beassigned to Journeys Academy through June 2010.ASSIGNMENT OF STUDENT NO.3–LAKE BRANTLEY HIGH SCHOOLSuperintendent’s Recommendation: That STUDENT NO.3 –LAKE BRANTLEY HIGH SCHOOLbe assigned to Journeys Academy through June 2010.Recommendation to the Board: That STUDENT NO.3 –LAKE BRANTLEY HIGH SCHOOL beassigned to Journeys Academy through January 2010.Page 8
