Investment for <strong>the</strong> two wind farms were estimated toDKK 4,500 milli<strong>on</strong> (605 milli<strong>on</strong> €). Rødsand II will be <strong>the</strong> sec<strong>on</strong>d of <strong>the</strong>se 200 MW windfarms.C<strong>on</strong>trary to previous establishment of <strong>Danish</strong> offshore wind farms <strong>the</strong> <strong>Danish</strong> EnergyAuthority will be using public tenders for <strong>the</strong> first time. This procedure wasrecommended in 2002 by a special work group and has been inspired by <strong>the</strong> goodexperiences of using public tenders within <strong>the</strong> offshore oil and gas industry.In January 2005 <strong>the</strong> opening for pre qualificati<strong>on</strong>s was closed. Four developers hadexpressed interest. These are: Ballast Nedam Infra B.V. and Evelop BV, Elsam KraftA/S, Rødsand II A/S c<strong>on</strong>sortium who also bid <strong>on</strong> Horns Rev II) and a c<strong>on</strong>sortiumc<strong>on</strong>sisting of DONG Vind A/S, Sydkraft AB og Energi E2 A/S.The <strong>Danish</strong> Energy Authority is expected to have chosen which will be allowed to giveoffers for <strong>the</strong> tender by autumn 2005.
