FLEXISAFE TM SeriesUltra-Safe FLEXITERM CapacitorAVX has developed a new range of MLCC with internal cascade construction (a seriescapacitor) and finished with the award winning FLEXITERM termination technology. Thecombination of cascade construction with the shock absorbing FLEXITERM soft terminationlayer, results in a range of ultra reliable ceramic capacitors for applications with the highestquality requirements.With the FLEXITERM finish, the parts receive excellent protection from potentialmechanical cracking issues caused by flexure during assembly. In order to protect the devicefrom inter electrode issues (thermal cracks, ESD damage, manufacturing or assembly issues, etc),AVX have utilized the cascade design (2 capacitors in series) currently used for the high voltagerange of components.The cascade design gives many benefits to the performance of the capacitor, improving theESD and ESR performance and increasing voltage flashover resistance.
