9186/9187 SeriesPCI ExpressCard KitsAVX/Elco has developed the next generation of PCMCIA CARD – called the PCI ExpressCard.The ExpressCard offers a smaller and faster alternative to the currently used PCMCIA cards. AVX/ElcoExpressCards support both of the form factors, ExpressCard/34 - 34 mm wide (9186 Series) andExpressCard/54 – 54mm wide (9187 Series). They have a common 26-position RoHS compliantconnector.9186/9187 series ExpressCards have been developed using the unique but tried and tested mechanicalsnap features (used on the 9170/9180 PCMCIA card kit), which ensures that the kit is very strong andrigid. This also means that these products can be assembled using a very simple bench press tool andtherefore avoid the need to invest in an expensive process and equipment like ultrasonic welding or heatadhesive.Both the versions can be provided with customized plastic extension to accommodate componentswhere additional space may be required, e.g. antenna. It can also incorporate features such as a built inSIM card for GPRS/WLAN related applications.The RoHS compliant 26-position connector is rated up to 10,000 durability cycles.
