• The Elma/Logan Recreation Complex tenders closed last Thursday at 4:00pm. Therewere 4 tenders received. Nith Valley submitted the lowest tender at $649,100. This doesnot include furnishing the kitchen with the equipment, architectural/engineering fees, orpaving. We received a $242,000 grant and the new compressor and water heater will beincluded with the grant. The washroom partition and vanities, paving, A/V for the hallwill be done after. The project is estimated by staff to be around $734,100. North Perth& West Perth Council are contributing $125,000, fundraising $375,000, grant $242,000.We will move forward by recommending the acceptance of the tender to Council. Theplan is to do the paving at the end depending on the finances. If we are successful withthe Trillium grant it will be used for the kitchen equipment. The other 3 tenders were;Gateman Milloy $712,000, Stahle Construction $676,000, Gordner Construction$653,700.• Splash pad Grand Opening is this Saturday.• Steve and Steve met with the Monkton Kinsmen Club last Tuesday. They are looking atwanting to replace or refurbish the playground equipment in Monkton.• Steve and Mark met with the Wallace soccer reps last Wednesday regarding the drainageditch by the kiddie-kickers soccer field. They are on board with the fence.• Steve commented about our facilities being well utilized which is nice to see.• Steve taught a class for ORFA at RIM Park last week. He was at CRFC LeadershipForum in Toronto this week.11) Sub Committee Reports:Multi Purpose Complex Committee – Meeting tomorrow night. An announcement will bein the paper this week. Pledges have hit the 1 million dollar mark. Fundraising is going verywell with great response from the corporations. The Charity golf tournament is putting theirmoney towards the complex. Final drawings and specifications are being fine tuned andeverything is on schedule. They are planning a kick-off in September for North Perth. TheCorporate stage is where they are right now, the next stage is the public/communityinvolvement stage. A naming rights list is at the corportate level. $1 million to get yourname on the facility and a wide varity of other naming rights. Campaign Coaches has been agreat resource. There is still some confusion among the public with what will be included inthe rec complex – pool, double ice pad, etc.Elma Logan Arena & Park Committee – See Steve’s report above.Memorial Park Rehabilitation Committee – This committee has been formed with 7members and they have received information packages and the past studies/reports, etc.Other Business: Discussion about trails.12) New Business: In September, we could take a tour of some of the new budget items – Monktonto see Phase 2 and then go from there.
