WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?Reporting Your Time<strong>Employee</strong>s are required to keep a weekly record of the hours they worked.<strong>Employee</strong>s must obtain their supervisor’s approval before making uptime, working extra hours, or working overtime (unless there is an emergency situationrequiring overtime).Attendance and PunctualityIf the employee anticipates being late to or absent from work, he or sheis responsible for contacting the supervisor or designee. If an absence isknown about in advance, the employee should inform his or her supervisor as soon aspossible. This policy may vary to meet special requirements of respective departments.Notification of AbsenceYou are required to notify your supervisor or his/her designee prior tothe start of the shift on the first day of absence. If you are absent for three(3) consecutive workdays without reporting to the supervisor, you will be removedfrom payroll as having resigned without notice.Change of Personal Information<strong>Employee</strong>s are expected to notify Human Resources as quickly aspossible of any changes to their name and/or marital status. WithholdingAllowance Certificate Forms (W-4) are available in Human Resources, and can be usedto make changes to income withholdings due to changes in marital status, number ofdependents, or change in income upon request.Furthermore, changes to the employee’s address (physical and/or mailing),telephone number, personal email address and emergency contact informationmay be made via the County’s MyOCinfo website, without having to contact HumanResources.Outside Employment<strong>Employee</strong>s are required to submit an Outside Employment NotificationForm for any employment held outside of Orange County Government.Outside employment should not interfere with the performance of County dutiesor be considered a conflict of interest.
