WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?HolidaysThe County observes (9) paid holidays per year. The official dates ofobserved holidays are determined annually by the Board of CountyCommissioners. You may be scheduled and required to work on holidays. The floating holiday must be taken before the end of the calendar year or itwill be forfeited.Pay PeriodsOrange County Government employees are paid every two (2) weeksthrough Direct Deposit. A pay period begins 12:01 a.m. on Sunday andcontinues through 12:00 midnight on Saturday of the following week, which thereforeincludes a total of fourteen (14) days. Your first check will be distributed viaU.S. mail to the address on file.InsuranceThe County provides all regular employees the opportunity to participatein the group insurance plan that includes: medical, dental, vision, longtermdisability, life and dependent life insurance.
