ABABEEL UAV (MINE DETECTOR)Mine detection using a UAV is a much safer and swifter method as it keeps the personat a safe distance from the explosives. UAV being equipped with a video transmissionlink helps by not only pin pointing the location of the explosives on the field, but alsohelps in surveillance when not being used as a metal detector.Up until now, a lot of work has been on PI metal detectors and quad-copters with avideo transmission link separately, but no work as such has been done on combiningthe two into a single module.The quad copters are inexpensive, dynamically elegant and stable owing to thesymmetry. It is an omnidirectional vehicle, and has almost no constraints on its motion.It can be flown in tight spaces and does not require large safety distances to operate.Also the size makes it undetectable by radars.The mine detection module is based on the Pulse Induction Metal Detector. The PImetal detectors work which works by sending short bursts of current through the coilwhich generates a magnetic field which is used to detect the coil.The video transmission module consists of the IP camera which is captures the imagescaptures them, and sends them over a network to the station (computer) to which it willbe linked.A prototype for the UAV has been designed which consists the quad copter as the flyingmodule on which the mine detection module is mounted for providing a faster, safer andmore efficient detection of mine for their clearance. The quad copter carries a videotransmission link in the form of an IP camera for providing us with the capability of realtime imagery.
