APPLICATION NOTEAN-0514Jun 2006Overview of Visual Ring IndicationVisual ring indication of a telephone is important <strong>for</strong> the hearingimpaired, <strong>for</strong> use in noisy locations, or <strong>for</strong> environments whereaudible ring volumes need to be lower to minimize disruptions.Typical applications requiring visual ring indication include recording studios, hospitals, nurseries, machine shops,nightclubs or facilities <strong>for</strong> the hearing impaired.<strong>Algo</strong> offers two basic solutions <strong>for</strong> Visual Ring indication thatare compatible with <strong>Nortel</strong> Digital, Meridian Digital Centrex, <strong>IP</strong>Softphone 2050, and <strong>Analog</strong> telephones: The <strong>Algo</strong> 1127PVisual Alerter and the <strong>Algo</strong> 1126P Strobe Light, both of whichcan be used interchangeably depending on the application.The 1127P Desktop Visual Alerter provides a highly visiblegreen, blue or red light that is noticeable from all directions,with one of four distinct light patterns as selected by the optionswitch. The 1127P can be located on the desktop, on a cubiclewall, on top of a computer monitor, or anywhere else deemeddesirable.For brighter wider area notification, the <strong>Algo</strong> 1126P StrobeLight can be used.
