On April 1, 1905, a 20-year-old salesman,<br />
Knud Michelsen, and a 22year-old<br />
precision mechanic, Peter<br />
Brock, opened P. Brock & Co. in<br />
Copenhagen. The company later<br />
became Brock & Michelsen Optomechanical<br />
Institute and Workshop.<br />
Having early contacts with <strong>Carl</strong> <strong>Zeiss</strong><br />
in Jena, Brock & Michelsen became<br />
the company’s general representative<br />
in Denmark in 1921, making<br />
Brock & Michelsen <strong>Carl</strong> <strong>Zeiss</strong>’<br />
longest-serving active representative<br />
outside Germany. Approximately 60<br />
employees support products ranging<br />
from microscopes and the various<br />
medical systems to products from<br />
semiconductor production technology.<br />
