Thereare three things which we must have continually beforeour eyes when we read the Scriptures of the OldTestament : namely, Jesus Christ, who is thereintypified and foretold ; the law of charity, to whichthat of Moses tends ;and the economy of the churchand the sanctification of the elect, which are representedin the prophets, and prefigured even in all thehistories of the Old Testament, and in all the eventswhich are related there." 31. Who appeared in glory, and spake of hisdecease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem."Christ appears but one moment in his glory, andeven then speaks of his sufferings and death.
