YPS Year Book 2012The School celebrated its 64th Annual School Academic Day on Friday, 22ndFebruary, and Saturday,23rd February.DAY-1 – FRIDAY, 22ND FEBRUARY -THE ARTS AND CRAFTS’ EXHIBITION - ‘TALENT UNLEASHED’ –The Arts and crafts’ exhibition ,this year titled,“Talent Unleashed” , was held in the Prep wing ofthe School on Friday,22nd February. The ChiefGuest for the occasion was Mr. Ajeet Singh Pannu, IAS,Commissioner, Patiala Division, and an OldYadavindrian of the 1972 batch. Mr. Rajan Kashyap,Member, School, Board of Governors, and Mr. JaiSingh Gill, former Chief Secretary, Governmentof Punjab, and , presently, Member ,Board OfGovernors, Lawrence School, Sanawar, also gracedthe occasion and attended the event.The exhibition which mainly comprised of exhibits,charts and models prepared by the students, becamea most befitting occasion to showcase their skill,talent and flair in preparing and presenting art andartifacts on their own. The Chief Guest went aroundthe exhibition, inter-acting with the students andcomplimenting them on the excellent done by them.The exhibition remained open on Tuesday,26thFebruary ,too.The following prizes were given for the Arts andcrafts’ exhibition-• BEST DISPLAY- was won by the Historyexhibition which, this year , was based on thehistory of Patiala and even more so revolvedaround the iconic persona of MaharajadhirajYadavindra Singhji, School Founder, whosebirth centenary is being celebrated this year.The Chief Guest, Maharani PreneetKaur, arrives at the venue, escorted by the Principal and other dignitaries• BEST PRESENTATION- was won by thePunjabi exhibition. The exhibition, effectively,portrayed the influence of West on the Punjabiculture.12
