YPS Year Book 2012The School celebrated its 64th Annual School Academic Day on Friday, 22ndFebruary, and Saturday,23rd February.DAY-1 – FRIDAY, 22ND FEBRUARY -THE ARTS AND CRAFTS’ EXHIBITION - ‘TALENT UNLEASHED’ –The Arts and crafts’ exhibition ,this year titled,“Talent Unleashed” , was held <strong>in</strong> the Prep w<strong>in</strong>g ofthe School on Friday,22nd February. The ChiefGuest for the occasion was Mr. Ajeet S<strong>in</strong>gh Pannu, IAS,Commissioner, Patiala Division, and an OldYadav<strong>in</strong>drian of the 1972 batch. Mr. Rajan Kashyap,Member, School, Board of Governors, and Mr. JaiS<strong>in</strong>gh Gill, former Chief Secretary, Governmentof Punjab, and , presently, Member ,Board OfGovernors, Lawrence School, Sanawar, also gracedthe occasion and attended the event.The exhibition which ma<strong>in</strong>ly comprised of exhibits,charts and models prepared by the students, becamea most befitt<strong>in</strong>g occasion to showcase their skill,talent and flair <strong>in</strong> prepar<strong>in</strong>g and present<strong>in</strong>g art andartifacts on their own. The Chief Guest went aroundthe exhibition, <strong>in</strong>ter-act<strong>in</strong>g with the students andcompliment<strong>in</strong>g them on the excellent done by them.The exhibition rema<strong>in</strong>ed open on Tuesday,26thFebruary ,too.The follow<strong>in</strong>g prizes were given for the Arts andcrafts’ exhibition-• BEST DISPLAY- was won by the Historyexhibition which, this year , was based on thehistory of Patiala and even more so revolvedaround the iconic persona of MaharajadhirajYadav<strong>in</strong>dra S<strong>in</strong>ghji, School Founder, whosebirth centenary is be<strong>in</strong>g celebrated this year.The Chief Guest, Maharani PreneetKaur, arrives at the venue, escorted by the Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal and other dignitaries• BEST PRESENTATION- was won by thePunjabi exhibition. The exhibition, effectively,portrayed the <strong>in</strong>fluence of West on the Punjabiculture.12
