As we crossed to the other side, we were received bythe school officials of the Aitchison College. We wereescorted to the college venue where we came to knowthat this MUN was going to be a big affair with over45 schools and colleges participating, with three schoolsbeing from India, itself.The Opening ceremony on the first day was followed bya quick information session. A total of nine committeeswere formed which discussed a wide range of topics,spawning from the question of state sovereignty tohad been, specially, set up where all the schools weresupposed to put up a presentation of the country theywere representing. We , through models, charts andartifacts , projected the culture , traditions and eventhe economic condition of Germany.A social evening was also arranged where ourschool participated , with Arsh Bansal rendering asoulful song and Ankush performing the ‘Bhangra’.Despite our busy schedule, we took outtime to visit a few landmarkplaces of LahoreWWW.YPSPATIALA.INincluding the Lahore fort and the famous Anarkalibazaar. At the end of the conference we realizedthat the whole concept of MUN was to make theyouth aware and deliberate on various world issuesand form an objective, fair and unbiased opinion ontheir own. The ACMUN helped us gain confidencemedical tourism to Middle East oil crisis and nuclearsecurity and issue of nuclear terrorism. Our schoolrepresented Germany in all the committees. Thenext three days were filled with rigorous debates onissues of international importance followed by thepassing of resolution on the last day. A global villagein airing these views, uninhibitedly, on these issues. It wasa wonderful feeling to realize that we, too, at this youngage, could understand and contribute towards resolvingthe problems faced by the world.- Riya Singla and Chahat Sharma,XII 33
