AnArjuna awardee , Mr Gagan Ajit Singh is a formerOlympian having represented the country at theSydney Olympics in 2004 and the Athens Olympicsin 2008.The Chief Guest, in an impressive March past , tooksalute from the participating teams, addressed thegathering and declared the Meet open. He also metthe players of the participating teams and wishedthem all the success for the tournament.Mr.Taranjeet Bakshi , an alumnus of Bishop CottonSchool, Simla ,was the Guest of Honour, for theOpening ceremony.The matches were played in two sessions -morningand evening- with the participating teams dividedinto two pools-A and B and each side consisting offour teams .The league matches were followed by thesemi-final matches .In the semi-final matches , MNSS, Rai , defeated Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, andYadavindra Public School, Patiala, defeated PunjabPublic School, Nabha. But, rains played spoilsportand the final match could not be played becauseof rain.
