YPS Year Book 2012THE 65TH ANNUAL SCHOOLFOUNDATION DAYThe School celebrated its 65th Annual FoundationDay on 2nd February. The programme was amedley mix of the exciting Pagal Gymkhana games,a rapturous fete and the traditional cricket matchbetween present and Old Yadavindrians.The programme began at 9am with the customaryPagal Gymkhana games which included the ObstacleRace for the Junior school children, Skipping race forthe Middle School girls and the Slow cycle Race forSenior boys. The Chief Guest was Dr.(Mrs. ) SumanSoni, wife of GOC 1 Armed Div and Chairperson ofthe Black Elephant Army Wives’ Welfare AssociationThe prizes were, thereafter, distributed to the winnersof various games by the Chief Guest.A mini- fete was organized on the occasion. TheFete was inaugurated by Dr.(Mrs.) Suman Soni Thestaff and students had put up various games , food,tattoo-making and the much-in -demand Requeststall. The fete drew large crowds of old and presentYadavindrians and parents who came to be a part ofthe carnival. Some exciting amusement rides werealso arranged to make it a more wholesome andexciting affair..A cricket match ,which has traditionally been playedbetween the present and the old Yadavindrians everyyear was also played on the main school cricketground with the usual zest and vigour . The ChiefGuest for the cricket match was Mr. Dinkar Gupta,Additional Director General of Police (Security,Law and Order), Punjab, an old Yadavindrian andmember, School Board of Governors, Mr. DinkarGupta, attended a lunch hosted for the members ofthe cricket teams and other guests and visitors.The result of the cricket match was –Colours of a Carnival-The Chief Guest , the Principal, staff and students join in the revelry at the feteThe OYs team , batting first scored 168 runs in 25overs. Sanvir form YPS XI, took 4 wickets andKaran Kaila and Harkirat Singh took 2 wickets each.The YPS XI team achieved the target in 16.2 oversscoring 171 runs for no loss of wickets. Viren Singhscored 91 runs and Karan Kaila scored 52 runs andboth remained not out.24
