Leavenworth and Scott Beaty NamedStake Class ChampionCARTHAGE, TN - <strong>The</strong> South Carthage Civitan Club hosted the 48th Annual Smith County Horse Show Friday, June 15, 2012 at the SmithCounty Agriculture Center in Carthage, TN. <strong>The</strong> Honorable Jackie Bryom judged the 28 class event. <strong>The</strong> club’s most outstanding projectis its annual $500 and $1,000 college scholarships awarded to Smith County students, but they also work hard to raise money that they cancontribute to organizations such as Little League Baseball, Girls Softball, Carthage and Gordonsville bands and other charitable organizations.<strong>The</strong> Master of Ceremonies for the event was John Hood of Murfreesboro, TN. <strong>The</strong> individual appointed to manage the show ringas ringmaster was Jim Broyles of Carthage, TN. Others that played an important role in making this show a success were show chairmanMike Lee of Carthage, TN, organist Wayne Nabors and treasurer Dewayne Wilmore. <strong>The</strong>se fine gentlemen kept the show running smoothlythroughout the evening.Two entries made the call to the center ring to compete in the Championship Stake class. This is the class that the audience looksforward to most. Leavenworth and Scotty Beaty took home the top honors in this class for owner, Mary Anna Mitchell. <strong>The</strong> AmateurSpecialty class had four noteworthy entries, but it was Okey Dokey Jose who led the pack with Bethany Allred for owner Fred Allred. <strong>The</strong>Amateur Ladies Specialty had eight horses and riders battling it out for the blue and in the end it was George Clooney and Bethany Allredwho won this class. <strong>The</strong> reserve honors went to the good team of Oops You Better Be Good and Harolene Willis. Another proud owner atthe show was Bobby and Kim Parker as they watched Ryan Gannon guide Mr. Jose Walks to the blue in the Park Pleasure Open Specialty.Congratulations to the winners of the Smith County Horse Show!
