To determine the Borexino tracking resolution, the tracker has been installed ontop of the experiment’s steel dome at the LNGS underground laboratory. Due toits small size the CMT can merely sample a small fraction of the muons crossingBorexino. Comparing these events with the tracks reconstructed in Borexino yieldsan angular resolution of approximately 4 ◦ and a spatial resolution of approximately50 cm of the Borexino tracking. A similar analysis was done using reference tracksof CNGS rock muons reconstructed by the OPERA experiment yielding comparableresults.Data taking with the CMT is still ongoing and will improve significantly aftera trigger upgrade foreseen for spring 2011. With higher statistics, an improvedcalibration will be possible. The events common to Borexino and the CMT havebeen matched manually so far. Once the new trigger is installed and the calibrationimproved, it is planned to include the CMT data directly into to Borexino dataprocessing. In this way, a comparison of CMT and Borexino tracks becomes mucheasier and allows for an identification of possible systematic errors in the Borexinotracking.100
