Because ofthis, they were regarded as “Pagans,” meaning theywere “illiterate and uneducated.” They never had achance to be educated in school. Therefore, they wereknown as the ignorant.In reality, this was somewhat different. Some neverwent to school but were educated through their religion.With all its rituals and sacraments, The Pagansbelieved in a certain philosophy of life.
