He accepted them because everyonethought the èlite knew more than anyone else.This same situation occurred at The Tower of Babelwhere many gods were worshipped. Paul said TheBabylonians worshipped the creation instead of thecreator (Romans 1:22-25). At that time, anyone whoknew about the gods were considered wise. But, inThe Bible, God called them foolish.The One God LessonAs the empire grew and became greater than other nations,King Nebuchadnezzar thought of himself as oneof the gods. Daniel warned him to believe, only, in TheOne True God and worship Him, alone. But, Nebuchadnezzardid not listen.The King’s ego and vanity went to his head, so Godcaused him to lose his mind. As a result, The Kingended up wandering, in the wilderness, like an animalfor seven years. After seven years, The King’s mindbecame sound again and his empire was restored(Daniel 4).
