An independent environmental audit was completed in 2003 and concluded that we weredoing what was possible for a small service based organisation.Resources limitations have meant that because of time pressure on staff, there has beenless opportunity to participate in projects that have a wider social impact, however wecontinue to contribute the Regional Equality and diversity Strategy and regularly contributeto developments within SEN.<strong>WBN</strong> promotes the benefit of environmentally friendly business policies to our membernetworks, whenever we receive information.SummaryWe consider that we continue to work towards this objective, recognising the limitations of asmall and as yet emerging social enterprise.Recommendations Identify relevant environmental indicators to evaluate progress Identify further activities promoting sustainable business practices toinfluence women in business in the North West6.7 Objective 2To be a good employer1. Operating an effective appraisal system.<strong>WBN</strong> considers that we offer good terms and conditions to staff. We operate a time off inlieu system, which ensure that staff can re-claim time invested outside the standard workingday. <strong>WBN</strong> staff can choose to take up the option of a contributory pension scheme, as partof their remuneration.Views regarding terms and conditions were gathered during each of the last threeyears social accounting processes and were positive, therefore this was omitted thisyear as the staff complement remains unchanged.Team meetings take place each month and create the opportunity to review progressagainst the work plan and to raise and discuss any issues. Within this period a member ofthe Board took the time to join a team meeting, to help familiarise herself with the day today activities being undertaken.44
