International StudentsThe diverse student population and surrounding area is ideal for studentsstudying from abroad. Students from overseas find the small classes andfriendly environment ideal to maximize artistic achievement and success.The rolling admissions policy is also in effect for international applicants,however for Merit-Based Scholarship consideration, all materials must besubmitted by March 15 for the fall semester or December 1 for the springsemester. Non-U.S. citizens living abroad are encouraged to contact DCADto learn more about the admissions process. In addition to the applicationmaterials indicated above, international students must also supply certifiedEnglish translations of all their academic records and TOEFL scores.TOEFLInternational students, whose first language is not English, must submitTOEFL results (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A minimum scoreof 79 IBT is required for acceptance to DCAD. Specify DCAD’s school codeof 5443 for TOEFL score reporting. The TOEFL requirement may be waivedfor students successfully completing college-level English compositionat an accredited U.S. college or university, if a student’s only language ofinstruction has been English for three or more years, or where a student hasa minimum verbal score of 500 on the SAT.Studying EnglishDCAD offers a Conditional Acceptance to students who do not meetthe TOEFL score requirement of 79 IBT. DCAD has partnered with ELSLanguage Centers and accepts successful completion of Level 109 inan English Language Program offered by anyone of more than 32 ELSLanguage Centers located throughout the USA.
