n Please use a separate entry form for each show. For example, do<br />
not list dairy cattle and beef cattle on the same entry form.<br />
n Important Information: No entries will be accepted after Sept. 16.<br />
Exhibitors who remove their animals from the barn prior to the posted<br />
release shall forfeit all premiums.<br />
n Make your entries early using the entry form at the back of this<br />
book or online at www.ClevelandCounty<strong>Fair</strong>.com. Space is assigned in<br />
the order entries are received and the show is limited to available tie<br />
space which is <strong>12</strong>5 head. Entry fee is $5 per head with the exception<br />
of the junior shows. No fee is required for entry in the junior shows.<br />
Please remit fees payable to the “Cleveland County <strong>Fair</strong>” with your entry<br />
form(s).<br />
Admission tickets and parking<br />
See the director for admission and parking pass at check-in.<br />
n Vehicles and trailers must be moved to the special livestock parking<br />
area outside the gate immediately after unloading.<br />

Guidelines<br />
NEW RULE: NO STRAW – NO EXCEPTIONS<br />
Cleveland County <strong>Fair</strong> will provide dry shavings.<br />
n In order to compete, exhibitors must be capable of showing animals<br />
without assistance in the show ring.<br />
n ALL exhibitors, regardless of the state of origin, must present a<br />
health certificate dated within 60 days of the opening date of the fair<br />
(see livestock health regulations).<br />
n Animals exhibited in the Junior Dairy Show are eligible for competition<br />
in the Open Show provided they are entered on a separate form<br />
under the same exhibitor’s name and number as in the junior show<br />
n An animal shown in the Junior Show shall not be entered in another<br />
exhibitor’s name in the Open Show.<br />
n Junior exhibits will show at the same time and with animals entered<br />
in the Open Show. When the judge completes each class, the ribbons<br />
will be presented and the placing recorded in for the Open Show.<br />
The junior exhibitors will then step forward to determine their places in<br />
the Junior Show.<br />
n Juniors may not enter group classes. However, junior entries may<br />
be used to complete group classes in the Open Show provided they are<br />
owned by the same family or farm.<br />
n No animal shall be allowed to compete in group classes unless also<br />
registered in an individual class.<br />
Rules and regulations<br />
1. Animals must be registered. Copies of registration papers should<br />
be available for inspection by the livestock superintendent, department<br />
directors or the show judge.<br />
2. All animals must be in the possession of the exhibitor. They must<br />
be under the exhibitors care for thirty days prior to the opening day of<br />
the fair.<br />
3. The management reserves the right of declining any entry.<br />
4. Furthermore, the directors reserve the right to bar from competition:<br />
n Dairy cattle of decided poor conformation.<br />
n Dairy cattle not fitted properly for the show.<br />
n Dairy cattle not possessing sufficient merit to warrant recognition<br />
5. Exhibitors are expected to:<br />
n Display their animals as directed by the superintendent and<br />
director(s).<br />
n Accept assigned tie spaces without controversy.<br />
n Keep their animals and display area in attractive appearance.<br />
n Cooperate with the department in every way such as may serve to<br />
increase the educational value of the show.<br />
6. Exhibitors failing to promptly exhibit their animals in the arena<br />
to be rated by the judge as per schedule, shall forfeit the privilege of<br />
competition. Decorations with ribbons previously won by animals in<br />
the show shall be prohibited until after the awards have been made in<br />
their respective classes. Current Cleveland County <strong>Fair</strong> ribbons must<br />
be displayed.<br />
7. Experienced judges shall pass on each class.<br />
8. The judge shall determine proper placing in the absence of competition<br />
in any class. Should unsound, inferior or distinctly unworthy<br />
specimens be presented in competition, the Association shall be under<br />
no obligation to decorate them with ribbons or distribute prizes as<br />
scheduled. Merit alone shall justify recognition.<br />
9. Feed must be furnished by the exhibitor. No straw for bedding.<br />
<strong>Fair</strong> will provide dry shaving for bedding. Care will be exercised to have<br />
all tie spaces clean and bedded with a suitable base material at the time<br />
of entry. However, the exhibitor will be expected to:<br />
n Provide on-site supervision of their animals.<br />
n Keep the space they occupy in a clean and sanitary condition.<br />
n Remove all litter or equipment promptly as the superintendent<br />
may direct.<br />
10. All herdsmen in charge of a herd of four or more animals exhibited<br />
in classes will automatically be entered in the Herdsmen’s contest<br />
(see the rules governing livestock).<br />
11. There will be no classes offered or premiums awarded for any<br />
breed show with three or less animals entered in that show. These animals<br />
will be eligible to show in the commercial division.<br />
<strong>12</strong>. The Cleveland County <strong>Fair</strong> Association shall not be responsible<br />
for any accident which may occur to, or by reason of any animals exhibited<br />
at the show. Also, the exhibitor shall hold the Cleveland County<br />
<strong>Fair</strong> blameless and indemnify the Cleveland County <strong>Fair</strong> against any<br />
legal proceedings arising from such actions.<br />
