The Chamber Surprise Patrol visited Moody Funeral Services to say thank
you to Bob Moody and his staff for their continued support of the Chamber and
for their contribution to our community. After introductions were made, Bob discussed
the history of the business and his family involvement that goes back to
1915! We learned that Moody Funeral Services is just like other small businesses.
Their employees are regular people and at the end of the day, it is all
about costumer service. The Chamber Surprise Patrol enjoyed learning more

The Chamber Surprise Patrol paid a visit to
L.S. Starrett Company in Mount Airy. The
patrol was able to meet with Michael
Chessock Division Manager and Arlette
Porter MIS Manager. It was a busy day at
L.S. Starrett with the Vice President from
the home office in Athol, Massachusetts
visiting the Mount Airy operation. Mike was
kind enough to take time and invite the
Chamber Surprise Patrol into the Boardroom for a few minutes where he told us
about the company and posed for a few photos with the group. The L. S. Starrett
Company, founded in 1880, manufactures more than 5,000 variations of
Precision Tools, Gages, Measuring Instruments and Saw Blades for industrial,
professional and consumer markets worldwide.
