2013 OLA TOURNAMENT GUIDELINESb) All coaches coaching Peewee and below need to be Community Coach Development in-training ortrainedc) All coaches coaching Bantam and above would need to be Competitive Introduction in Training orTrained.(accompanying workbook must be completed by December 31st of the same year.D) Coaches who were certified from 2009 and prior who have successfully completed their full Level 1(Technical/Theory/Practical) or certified Community Development will be grandfathered in untilDecember 31, 2014. At that time they will be required to complete the Competitive Introduction Box orField Certification Clinic.d) Trainers must have an approved and valid trainer's certificate (or its equivalent) and must be presentduring all zone, interlock, tournament and Provincial Play.NOTE: All rep teams must have a certified coach and a certified trainer on their bench (however onlyone certified trainer is allowed on the bench at any one time). In case of emergency, a team may agreeto have the opposition team’s trainer act as theirsHOST RESPONSIBILITIESAll hosting applicants must ensure that tournament rules are sent out with the application forms.The rules should include the following: length of game, over time rule and tie-breaking rule. Acompleted schedule must be emailed or faxed to the OLA office and Lynn Brandwood(olaratings@mail.com) at least 1 week prior to the start of the 1 st game of the <strong>Tournament</strong>.The host organization will provide all arena and minor game officials. <strong>Association</strong>s applying forinvitational tournaments must have qualified minor game officials. (Timekeepers) Such personsmust be capable of carrying out their duties with a minimum of referee or O.L.A. guidance. Onlyappointed officials will be permitted in the time box, to a maximum of three.Refer to on-site assigned O.L.A. Referee Supervisor, or his designate, questions regarding:o game rules interpretationo complaints regarding referee conducto problems with timekeepingEstablish the O.L.A. Referee Supervisor and the host club contact at assigned arena. Workingtogether will go a long way to making a successful tournament.At no time are minor officials in timekeeper’s box to be approached during the game. Leave this tothe game referees via the O.L.A. Referee Supervisor. (see Item 3)Ensure that Game Structure, Overtime Rules, and Suspension <strong>Guidelines</strong> have been posted in anaccessible spot adjacent to the score board. If not posted - bring to attention of host club contactso that it may be doneScore sheets - minimum of three (3) copies (original - O.L.A., 2nd and 3rd copies for competingteams). Refer to O.L.A. <strong>Tournament</strong> Information for score sheet completion procedures.Request O.L.A. Referee Supervisor to advise timekeeping officials that ALL copies of score sheetmust be returned to registrar's desk.6
