CFI UK AREA REPRESENTATIVE PROFILEContinuing on with our Rep interviews, CFI’s David Soakellhas been asking Audrey Lee, our Rep for Glasgow, somechallenging questions. So Audrey, can you tell us something about yourself and whyyou felt you should become an Area Rep for CFI?“I have been an Area Rep for three years now and I took thison as an answer to prayer. I knew I wanted to support Israelin any way I could and I had some time to give. CFI needed aRep in Glasgow and I wanted to help them and be of value tothem if possible. Ultimately, God opened the door and I obeyed.Initially I wrote to every Church in Glasgow and tried to setup meetings. Not many responded but the ones who did werevery keen to listen and loved the CFI ‘In Touch’ magazine. TheGlasgow Synagogue was extremely welcoming and I attended afew of their Feasts and celebrations. Although I couldn’t attendthe Area Reps Conference in September 2014 as I was out of thecountry, I hope to be at the next one. I look forward to meetingeveryone on the team face to face.Initially David and Julia Soakell kindly came to meet me inScotland and after a long chat over coffee they gave me thegreen light! I was delighted and I hope that I can continue tobe available in the years to come and especially in these periloustimes when Bible prophecy is leaping off the pages and Israelis surrounded by enemies that want to annihilate her. Israelneeds our prayer and support more than ever and we must act, even if all you can do is pray - then pray daily for the peace ofJerusalem.”What does being an Area Rep involve for you?“I recently attended a meeting held by the Zionist Federation(ZF) in Glasgow, and as the CFI Area Rep when I attend anymeetings on Israel, I take the CFI literature along and am opento questions and to give people the information they need andoffering my support to them in any way I can. It’s about beingavailable when needed. Recently I visited a Baptist Church nearbyand it wasn’t until the coffee afterwards that I got chatting toa lady and her husband and of course, the subject came roundto Israel. Before long she was asking if I could come and speaksometime. Having passed on some CFI literature and made newfriends, I’ve also opened a door and they now understand theGLASGOW INTERVIEW by CFI’s David SoakellBiblical perspective of Israel and the land. I hope to show aDVD in the fullness of time. It may take months to build up afriendship but God’s timing is perfect.”What are the highlights of your role and what are thechallenges?“The highlights are being able to get the ‘In Touch’ and ‘ForZion’s Sake’ magazines out to various Churches and to enable theJewish community to know that you are standing for the Biblicalnation according to God’s Word. I myself, learn so much fromthe magazines. It’s very encouraging to have the knowledge, andthen I am equipped ‘for battle’ as it were. We know we are in aspiritual battle. This anti-Semitic thread that runs through theUK, Europe and the nations is demonic. We need to pray againstit. One of the biggest challenges is the Church itself. Sadly, Ioften find many areas are against Israel. The challenge is tryingto engage with people in the Churches that supporting Israelis Biblical and we should be convicted to do so. I have beenturned away from some Church denominations… however it’snot a personal thing and I press on towards the goal of victory inanother setting! I just give it over to the Lord and He gives methe strength to carry on.”What would you say to someone considering being a CFI AreaRep?“I would say to anyone with a heart for the Lord and Israel tolisten to the Holy Spirit. If He is leading you to be a Rep forCFI then follow that calling. It will give you a peace that wordscannot explain. Also, being able to support such an amazinggroup of people in CFI is just a blessing. I look forward toworking with CFI for a long time to come.”Audrey Lee will be manning the CFIstand during Week One at the Christianfestival New Wine in Shepton Mallet. If you are there, do visit the CFI standand meet Audrey and the other CFIReps and staff.Audrey LeeCHURCHLINKChristian Friends of Israel in the UK needs you!We are developing a unique team of Church Linksaround the country to support the CFI vision and toencourage people to read our literature, sign up toreceive updates and pray with us.
