SECTION 721.5SECTION 721.6MAXIMUM BUILDING HEIGHT – Eighty (80) feetPARKING AND LOADING REQUIREMENTS – The parking andloading requirements for this district shall be regulated by Article IXhereof.SECTION 722SECTION 722.1I-2 GENERAL INDUSTRIALPURPOSEThe purpose of this district is to create areas where heavy industry canoperate and still ensure the protection of the neighboring environment.SECTION 722.2USESWithin an I-2 General Industrial District no building, structure, orpremises shall be used, arranged to be used, or designed to be used except for one or more of thefollowing uses:A. Permitted Uses1. All uses specifically permitted in an I-1 Light Industrial District.2. Automobile assembly and major repair.3. The following types of manufacturing, processing, cleaning,servicing, testing, or repair activities:a) Pottery and figurines or similar ceramic products usingpreviously pulverized clay and kilns fired only with gas orelectricity.b) Electric and neon signs, billboards, and other such structures.c) Laboratories and processing, experimental, film, or testing.d) Light sheet metal products, including heating and ventilatingequipment.e) Blacksmith, welding, or other similar type of metal shop,including machine shop operations of the tool, die, and gaugetype.f) Bag, carpet, and rug cleaning, provided necessary equipment isinstalled and operated for the effective recovery of dust.46

The following uses, provided storage is within an enclosedbuilding or an area enclosed on all sides by a solid masonry wall ora minimum six foot (6’) solid painted fence with opening nogreater than fifteen (15) percent.a) Building materials and lumber yard, including mill work whenwithin a completely enclosed building.b) Contractors’ equipment storage yard or plant, or storage andrental of equipment commonly used by contractors.c) Fuel, food and goods distribution station, warehouse andstorage, but excluding coal and coke. Inflammable liquids,underground storage only if located more than three hundred(300) feet from any residential district.d) Public storage garage and yards.5. Warehouses and wholesale business establishments.6. Carpenter, cabinet, upholstering, sheet metal, plumbing, heating,roofing, air conditioning, sign painting, and other similarestablishments.7. Foundry, casting lightweight nonferrous metals, not causingnoxious fumes or odors.8. Laundry, cleaning, and dyeing plant.9. Repair services for machinery and equipment, including repairgarages and specialty establishments such as motor, body andfender, radiator, and tire services involving retreading andvulcanizing.10. Stone or monument works if, employing power tools, within acompletely enclosed building.11. Accessory uses incidental to the uses permitted on the samepremises.12. Signs, as permitted and regulated by Article VIII hereof.B. Conditionally Permitted Uses (Amended eff. 9/29/09, NI #1, 2009)The Board of Zoning Appeals may issue Conditional ZoningCertificates for uses listed herein subject to the general requirements ofArticle XI and to the specific requirements of Article XI referred tobelow:1.
