The 1-piece HSKsleeve is factory coated with awaterproof sealant at the ends only,leaving the L-823 connector cleanand re-enterable. The main purposeis to seal the L-823 connector/cablejoint, not to seal the plug/receptaclemating. The 2-piece HSK has sealantthe full length.The crosslinked polyolefin sleeveprovides excellent moisture, oil andfuel protection for L-823 connectorsused in L-868 and L-867 bases, ordirect buried. The sleeves are toughand withstand direct burial abuse.Technical DataUpon the application of heatin excess of 275°F (135°C) thesleeve quickly shrinks to a tight fit,conforming to the irregular shape ofthe L-823 connector/ cable transition.The shrinking action causes thesealant to melt and flow, forcing itinto contact with the under-lyingsurfaces. Upon cooling, the sealantforms a positive barrier with highadhesive strength.
