Florida Department of Children and FamiliesCase Management Services - 2009-2010 <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> <strong>Report</strong>termination of parental rights has been or will be filed), permanent guardianship of a dependentchild, permanent placement with a fit and willing relative, and placement in another plannedpermanent living arrangement (APPLA). The case plan goal for court ordered in-home or noncourtordered in-home cases is Maintain and Strengthen.Case plan tasks must be designed to improve the conditions in the home, aid in maintainingthe child in the home, facilitate the child’s safe return to the home, ensure proper care of thechild, or facilitate the child’s permanent placement. The case plan must clearly match thechild’s, parents’, and/or caregivers’ needs with services, contain realistic timeframes, anddocument appropriate strategies and adequate support to successfully complete assigned tasks.The services offered must be the least intrusive possible; focus on clearly defined objectives;and provide the most efficient path to successfully achieve the Maintain and Strengthen caseplan goal, timely reunification or permanent placement given the circumstances of the case, andthe child’s need for safe and proper care. The tasks, services, and supports must be tailored toeach individual family member to provide the necessary treatment and supports, formal andinformal, needed to achieve case goals and mitigate factors affecting child safety, emerging riskand overall child and family well-being. The tasks should be realistic, achievable, and timelimited, and the services should be available. <strong>Quality</strong> of practice case reviews indicate goodpractice related to case plan goals.
