Sometimes as anicca, sometimes as dukkha, sometimes as anatta, one round on internal, on<br />

e round on external alternately. Meditate for many times again and again. In meditating like t<br />

hat, meditate vipassanå on whatever rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa, whether they are<br />

1. o¬årika = gross rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa or<br />

2. sukhuma = subtle rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa or<br />

3. h¥na = inferior rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa or<br />

4. paˆ¥ta = superior rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa or<br />

5. dËra = far rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa or<br />

6. santika = near rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa.<br />

If able to meditate like that, then it means that the meditator is able to meditate vipassanå o<br />

n the five khandha - which are rËpa, vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññåˆa - existing in 11 ways w<br />

hich are past, future, present, internal, external, gross, subtle, inferior, superior, far, near. The<br />

n he is able to meditate the anatta lakkhaˆa sutta way of meditation as follows:<br />

å, sabba◊ rËpa◊ — ‘neta◊ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attå’ti evameta◊ yat<br />

håbhËta◊ sammappaññåya da habba◊.<br />

1. yå kåci vedanå ...pe...<br />

2. yå kåci saññå ...pe...<br />

3. ye keci sa∫khårå ...pe...<br />

4. "ya◊ kiñci viññåˆa◊ ...pe... (samyutta, II. 56)<br />

Neta◊ mama nesohamasmi na meso attåti samanupassåm¥ti anicca◊ dukkha◊<br />

anattåti samanupassåmi. (uparipaˆˆåsa a hakathå. 232)<br />

= As the five khandha are only anicca dukkha anatta, monks, in this såsanå, meditate on all<br />

these rËpa existing in 11 ways such as ---<br />

1. past rËpa (at¥ta)<br />

2. future rËpa(anågata)<br />

3. present rËpa (paccuppanna)<br />

4. internal rËpa (ajjhatta)<br />

5. external rËpa (bahiddha)<br />

6. gross rËpa (o¬årika)<br />

7. subtle rËpa (sukhuma)<br />

8. Inferior rËpa (h¥na)<br />

9. superior rËpa (paˆ¥ta)<br />

10. far rËpa (dËra)<br />

11. near rËpa (santika) as --<br />

a. "neta◊ mama" = "this rËpa is not my rËpa" (as dukkha)<br />

b. "nesohamasmi" = "this rËpa is not I" (as anicca)<br />

c. "na meso attå" = "this rËpa is not my atta/self" (as anatta),<br />

removing nåma-rËpa compactness by the vipassanå light (samyutta, II. 56)<br />

Meditate in the same way in the four nåmakkhandha which vedanå, saññå, sa∫khåra, viññå<br />

ˆa. Take note that the translation (for nåma) is the same.<br />

GROSS-SUBTLE; INFERIOR-SUPERIOR; FAR-NEAR<br />

Meditating like that, the meditator can meditate on the nåma-rËpa differentiating them as gros<br />
