Everyone’s needs are different, and your own medicalcircumstances will affect which vaccinations and medications you are able to take.Please be aware that travel clinics may charge a premium for vaccinations andmedications, so always speak with your GP first.You can find more information on which vaccinations are recommended for travel to Tanzania on the NHS Fitfor Travel website.YELLOW FEVERIf you are booking your own flights and will spend more than 12 hours in Kenya oranother country classed as an at-risk area for Yellow Fever, you must carry a YellowFever vaccination certificate when entering Tanzania. Those without a Yellow Fevercertificate must carry a valid letter of exemption, signed by their doctor.A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate or a valid letter of exemption must also bepresented when entering the Sultanate of Zanzibar.DRINKING WATERSafe drinking water is provided throughout your time on the mountain. This water is collected from themountain streams, then boiled and filtered. You may notice that at times the water is slightly coloured,however it is perfectly safe to drink.Water purification tablets are essential for anyone trekking on Kilimanjaro, to ensure that water stored in yourbottle or water bag is kept clean. You may wish to bring some neutralising tablets to take away the taste of thepurification tablets, or use flavoured tablets.FLIGHT OPTIONSWhen you sign up to the event, you have the choice of 3 flight options: Direct Return, Delayed Return & groundArrangements Only.DIRECT RETURN: Fly home after finishing the Kilimanjaro trekDELAYED RETURN: Spend an extra 6 days in Tanzania.
