<strong>Swans</strong> <strong>Christmas</strong> <strong>Fair</strong><strong>Swans</strong> School enjoyed beautiful wea<strong>the</strong>r for its popular<strong>Christmas</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> last Friday. Set in <strong>the</strong> stunning scenery ofNagueles at <strong>the</strong> purpose built secondary school, <strong>the</strong> fairwas <strong>the</strong> busiest ever and <strong>the</strong> huge crowds were rewardedwith a plethora of stalls selling such diverse wares as:jewellery, scarves, <strong>Christmas</strong> decorations, <strong>the</strong> latest infashionable footwear, imaginative and exotic <strong>Christmas</strong>presents and delicious cakes. Parents and visi<strong>to</strong>rs wereentertained by <strong>the</strong> choirs of both <strong>the</strong> Primary and<strong>Secondary</strong> Schools, <strong>the</strong> latter’s rendition of ‘All I Want for <strong>Christmas</strong>’ proving a particularfavourite. Fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>Christmas</strong> made a timely entrance<strong>to</strong> distribute gifts and <strong>the</strong> Three Kings ensured all <strong>the</strong>children had sweets. As well as displays in <strong>the</strong> art offencing by <strong>the</strong> students, <strong>the</strong>re were energeticperformances by both schools’ cheerleading squadsand a raffle of over 100 prizes donated by generousparents and friends of <strong>the</strong> school. The student ledstalls featured: Plate Smashing, Sponge Bob, SurfingMachines and a Bouncy Castle. These were busy allday, as were <strong>the</strong> popular Bodeguita andInternational Food Hall. An exhausted but happyorganiser, Mrs. Shahed Kavousi, was delighted that AVOI would be enjoying a generouscontribution from <strong>the</strong> money raised.<strong>Christmas</strong> <strong>Fair</strong>—Student’s ReportOn Friday 16 th of December, <strong>the</strong> school organized <strong>the</strong> <strong>Christmas</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> after exams had finished.There were many stalls selling different kinds of items and food, from designer clo<strong>the</strong>s <strong>to</strong>chocolate muffins. Some well known shops like UGG’s and Juicy Couture <strong>to</strong>ok part. However <strong>the</strong>stall that succeeded most of all was “La Bodeguita Española” run by <strong>the</strong> Spanish department.Students and parents kindly brought typical Spanish dishes, such as Spanish omelette, jamónserrano and chorizo. All students and <strong>the</strong>ir families were welcome at <strong>the</strong> fair and we werefortunate <strong>to</strong> have as special guests, The Three Kings and Santa Claus. The party came <strong>to</strong> life withperformances from <strong>the</strong> “The School Band” composed of: Mr. Arjun, Mr. Rob, Mr. Andy, Mr. Dan,Mr. Dave and Year 12 student, Pedro Candela. We also enjoyed <strong>the</strong> cheerleading squads and <strong>the</strong>school choir. Part of <strong>the</strong> money was raised for <strong>the</strong> AVOI(Asociación de Voluntarios de Infantil) cancer charityand for <strong>the</strong> improvement of <strong>the</strong> school’s library. Thestudents thought it was a great way <strong>to</strong> celebrate <strong>the</strong> endof <strong>the</strong>ir exams and <strong>the</strong>y had a wonderfultime.
