Christmas Fair From the Headteachers Visit to Swans Secondary

Swans Christmas FairSwans School enjoyed beautiful weather for its popularChristmas Fair last Friday. Set in the stunning scenery ofNagueles at the purpose built secondary school, the fairwas the busiest ever and the huge crowds were rewardedwith a plethora of stalls selling such diverse wares as:jewellery, scarves, Christmas decorations, the latest infashionable footwear, imaginative and exotic Christmaspresents and delicious cakes. Parents and visitors wereentertained by the choirs of both the Primary andSecondary Schools, the latter’s rendition of ‘All I Want for Christmas’ proving a particularfavourite. Father Christmas made a timely entranceto distribute gifts and the Three Kings ensured all thechildren had sweets. As well as displays in the art offencing by the students, there were energeticperformances by both schools’ cheerleading squadsand a raffle of over 100 prizes donated by generousparents and friends of the school. The student ledstalls featured: Plate Smashing, Sponge Bob, SurfingMachines and a Bouncy Castle. These were busy allday, as were the popular Bodeguita andInternational Food Hall. An exhausted but happyorganiser, Mrs. Shahed Kavousi, was delighted that AVOI would be enjoying a generouscontribution from the money raised.Christmas Fair—Student’s ReportOn Friday 16 th of December, the school organized the Christmas Fair after exams had finished.There were many stalls selling different kinds of items and food, from designer clothes tochocolate muffins. Some well known shops like UGG’s and Juicy Couture took part. However thestall that succeeded most of all was “La Bodeguita Española” run by the Spanish department.Students and parents kindly brought typical Spanish dishes, such as Spanish omelette, jamónserrano and chorizo. All students and their families were welcome at the fair and we werefortunate to have as special guests, The Three Kings and Santa Claus. The party came to life withperformances from the “The School Band” composed of: Mr. Arjun, Mr. Rob, Mr. Andy, Mr. Dan,Mr. Dave and Year 12 student, Pedro Candela. We also enjoyed the cheerleading squads and theschool choir. Part of the money was raised for the AVOI(Asociación de Voluntarios de Infantil) cancer charityand for the improvement of the school’s library. Thestudents thought it was a great way to celebrate the endof their exams and they had a wonderfultime. They are already looking forward tonext year’s fair!Izaskun, Naomi, Beabel Year 10
