WHAT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY…TO JOIN A COLLABORATIVE TEAM AS OURManager <strong>of</strong> Operations<strong>The</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Faro</strong> is a progressive; growing community <strong>of</strong> approximately 400 residents located 357kms northeast <strong>of</strong>Whitehorse in beautiful Yukon. <strong>The</strong> Manager <strong>of</strong> Operations reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer in theperformance <strong>of</strong> a variety <strong>of</strong> highly responsible duties.This is a permanent full-time position.Our Manager <strong>of</strong> Operations serves a very important role in the town and possesses the following competenciesand suitability factors:compiling preventative maintenance plans, contractspreparing reports to government agencies concerning water/waste and water/refuse regulations and licensessupervising capital projectsassessing capital infrastructure requirementsbudget preparation and controlmanaging the day to day operations <strong>of</strong> public works, utilities and building maintenance functionsmaintaining and upgrading the equipment fleet and buildingssupervising and directing employees.REQUIREMENTSTraining and education relevant to water and wastewater managementPrevious experience in a municipal government working environmentExcellent management and leadership skillsAbility to work well with others as well as independently under minimal supervisionExcellent communication skills, both written and oralProposal writing skillsStrong working knowledge <strong>of</strong> computers and s<strong>of</strong>tware applicationsMust be well organized, resourceful, and flexibleKnowledgeable in by-law enforcement an assetHave the ability to implement municipal policies and proceduresClass 5 Driver’s LicenseAbility to be confidential in the workplaceCompensation: Salary- Negotiable- dependent on qualifications and experience with an excellent benefits package.If you are a quick learner and interested in working with our dynamic team <strong>of</strong> <strong>Faro</strong> in a rewarding position, please forwardyour resume and a covering letter as we are willing to train.
