GRANT BROOKERGrant Brooker (BA(Hons) Dip Arch RIBA AHKIA) is Design Director at DesignGroup 1. He studied at the Canterbury School of Architecture and joinedFoster Associates in 1987. He has since been responsible for a large numberof built projects in Europe and South East Asia, including leading the designteam for Hong Kong International Airport in 1992. His motivation is to do the right thing; forhis profession, the environment, his employees and his clients. Chip is theperpetrator of many catchphrases, such as ‘it’s the HOK effect,’ ‘orbit thehairball,’ and ‘keep on jammin’,’ which are fondly referred to as ‘Chipisms.’His ability to inspire no doubt derives from his passionate commitment tothe environment, great design and community responsibility.
