THURSFORD<br />

CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR<br />

Thursford Christmas Spectacular is the largest Christmas production in England.<br />

A cast of choirs, orchestras, pipers, military bands and professional dancers<br />

perform a show depicting all aspects of the season, in a beautifully decorated<br />

Christmas setting. A very popular event… so please book early!<br />

A modern 3* hotel located in pleasant surroundings. All rooms are ensuite, <strong>with</strong><br />

TV, radio, telephone, hair dryer, trouser press and tea & coffee-making facilities.<br />

There is also an indoor swimming pool, spa bath, steam room and gym. The<br />

restaurant serves a good selection of delicious food.<br />

TUESDAY – We leave the West Country and make our way to Stratford upon<br />

Avon, <strong>with</strong> a stop for coffee en route. With time to browse the shops and enjoy<br />

lunch, we then continue our journey to Norwich, and our hotel, arriving <strong>with</strong> time<br />

to settle in and maybe make use of the wonderful leisure facilities before dinner.<br />

WEDNESDAY – After a leisurely breakfast we make the short journey into the<br />

centre of Norwich where you may like to visit the cathedral, browse the shops for<br />

Christmas ideas and enjoy lunch. Depending on our allocation of tickets we will<br />

either <strong>travel</strong> to Thursford for the afternoon performance and return to the hotel for<br />

dinner, or have an early dinner and <strong>travel</strong> to the evening show of the Christmas<br />

Spectacular… – a show seen by over 90,000 people each year! You really will be<br />

amazed.<br />

THURSDAY – It’s time to say goodbye to Norwich as we make our way to Royal<br />

Windsor where you will have ample time to explore this picturesque town full of<br />

so much history. You may like to visit the Castle, the oldest and largest occupied<br />

castle in the world and the Official Residence of Her Majesty The Queen, or take<br />

a bus trip around Windsor & Eton where a guided commentary will explain some<br />

of the fascinating history. There are also some lovely shops and restaurants to<br />

enjoy lunch. We later continue our homeward journey, <strong>with</strong> a stop for tea en route,<br />

arriving back in the West Country early evening.<br />

FRIDAY – (Christmas Eve) We leave our home area and journey east,<br />

stopping in Dorchester for lunch and a chance to browse the shops. We then<br />

continue to our hotel in Bournemouth in time for a welcome cup of tea and<br />

mince pies and time to settle in before evening dinner followed by live<br />

entertainment<br />

SATURDAY – (Christmas Day) Following a Merry Christmas breakfast, we<br />

make the short journey to Poole <strong>with</strong> time for Christmas shopping and lunch.<br />

We later <strong>travel</strong> through some lovely Dorset scenery, including Wareham and<br />

Corfe Castle, returning, to our hotel <strong>with</strong> time to relax before a traditional<br />

Christmas dinner <strong>with</strong> all the festive trimmings, followed once again by<br />

evening entertainment.<br />

SUNDAY – (New Year’s Eve) Join us if you wish this morning for a gentle<br />

drive through some of the New Forest’s most picturesque villages, stopping<br />

in the lovely small town of Lyndhurst for coffee and an opportunity to browse<br />

the gift shops. We then return to Bournemouth, where you will have the<br />

remainder of the day free to relax and spend as you please. You may like to<br />

browse the shops, take a stroll along the prom or relax and purchase a light<br />

lunch from the hotel bar and make use of the leisure facilities. The evening<br />

commences <strong>with</strong> dinner followed by New Year’s Eve entertainment to dance<br />

the night away!<br />

MONDAY – Back to reality! After a leisurely breakfast, we leave our hotel and<br />

make our way west, stopping in Bridport for lunch en route. We then<br />

complete our homeward journey, arriving very early-evening.<br />
