OUR GENERAL FOREMEN
General Foreman Recognition
The Year of the
General Foreman
As we learned in the previous LifeLine,
Nelson Tree Service is placing special
emphasis on recognizing our general foremen
and thanking them for the difficult
job they do.
The 2007 program began by selecting
a General Foreman of the Week and then
rolled into choosing a General Foreman of
the Month. For 2008, the program has been
refined and will now focus solely on a General
Foreman of the Month and roll into the selection
of a General Foreman of the Year.
Each month, regional managers will
submit the name of one of their deserving
general foremen. A committee will
review each submission and arrive at a
score for each candidate. Criteria such
as payroll accuracy, tailgate sheet timeliness and
completion, pre-/post-trip paperwork compliance,
incident occurrences and equipment inspection
results are a few of the tangible items that will
be used to evaluate the candidates. The General
Foreman of the Year will be based upon a business
year structure that runs from October to
September (Nelson Tree’s business year ends
on September 31). Using this date structure
will assist the committee in determining the
most worthy General Foreman of the Year.
The evaluation committee is still
reviewing data on choosing Nelson
Tree’s General Foreman of the Year
for 2007. The next LifeLine will
feature this winner and continue
to highlight our general foremen
selected for the monthly award.
GF of the Week
The following list announces our General Foremen of the Week Winners for the months of August,
September, October and November. Each General Foreman of the Week was awarded a $250 Wal-Mart
shopping card.
Nelson Tree Service again thanks each and every one of our general foremen for their service. Theirs is
one of the most difficult and demanding jobs in the company. This program is our way of continuing to
highlight some of our most valued general foremen. Good luck to all of you!
