Race 4 Selections by Chad Rozema
THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
1 NOCTURNAL BLUECHIP gave his large ownership group reason to be excited in his latest after cruising to an open length maiden win in 1:52.3.
The Bettors Delight colt was strong and straight down the lane as he pulled away with MacDonell sitting motionless in the bike. The challenge is
tougher tonight as he faces stakes experienced rookies but a similar effort will make him tough to defeat. I will give him the nod.
4 HEAVYMETAL HANOVER opted to skip the Metro Pace which could serve him well down the road. The Jack Darling student has impressed this
year with 6 in the money results from as many starts. He’s held his own against some of the top rookies around should fit well at this level. The Up
The Credit colt will be forwardly placed and is a wise inclusion for the ticket.
3 CARTER BEACH failed to qualify for the Metro Pace Final after fading to last over a tiring track. The Jamieson pupil came first over against the
top two year old around and explicably couldn’t sustain his bid. This group should provide him a chance to get back into contention. The 1 time
winner boasts some strong times and can hit the Triactor with a better trip.
7 ARSENIC posted his second career victory in his latest winning under a snug hold to driver Doug McNair. The Bettors Delight gelding has shown
a wicked ability to gobble up ground late but both wins have come when he’s been handled aggressively. Others sport quicker times but I’m
confident there’s more in the tank with this freshman. He’s a top 4 player for sure.
WORTH A LOOK
(2) MICHAELS VICTORY couldn’t catch Arsenic in his latest but it was a solid Canadian debut for the Alagna pupil. He’s not been worse than 2 nd in
his last three and shouldn’t be overlooked in here.
(5) MAX IS BACK fortunately found room late in his most recent to post his first career victory. The Somebeachsomewhere colt has tackled some
tough freshman this year and is one to watch for if the trip works out again.
(6) MATCHPLAY HANOVER came within a length of posting a big win in the OSS Gold event at Rideau Carleton in his latest. The Auciello student
has only missed the board twice and deserves some respect.
TICKET SUGGESTION: EARLY PICK 4 (1,4/1,2,4,9/2,4/1,2,4,6,8,10) $1COST=$96 (20CENT$19.20)
