THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
1 ULTIMATE SHOPPER ships north for her first try on the WEG circuit. The Yankee Glide filly disappointed as the heavy favourite in her latest after
making an early miscue. The 140k yearling buy performed well in both of her previous starts and her closing quarters will be put to good use over
this long stretch. If McCarthy can keep her together I believe she will be heard from late. A better price is expected this week too.
9 EMOTICON HANOVER got back to her winning ways with a 1:56.2 tour of the Mohawk oval last week. The 165k yearling will have her hands full
in her first try at the Grand Circuit level especially from this post. She has the speed and determination to be successful against this group and will
demand a big effort from others to have the win taken from her. I have to keep her in the top two.
2 WINNING SYMBOL was defeated by more than nine lengths in her latest but it was still good enough for a runner-up result behind standout
Broadway Donna. That was her third 2 nd place finish in her last 3 attempts. She’s performed well when put close to the early action and that’s
where she’s likely pointed for tonight. She’s a threat for the ticket.
4 EVERYTHING N MORE is a Muscle Hill filly going out for prominent owners Libfeld, Katz, and Goldband. She’s winless through her first 6 starts
but has narrowly lost on a pair of occasions including her latest. She’s generally an off the pace performer and hopefully can find a good helmet to
follow from this inside post. I will tab her for a share of the Superfecta.
WORTH A LOOK
(5) WORLDCLASS HANOVER boosted her confidence with a maiden breaking score in her return to Canada last time. The Cantab Hall filly has
shown talent and draws an ideal post for tonight’s test.
(6) DEWDLE ALL DAY nearly caught Emoticon Hanover last week to extend her on the ticket streak to 5. She seems to be getting better each start
and should be in the mix early. I could use her on the tickets.
(8) THANKFUL REWARD rebounded from a breaking effort to nab a solid 2 nd at Tioga Downs in her latest. Scott Zeron is back in the bike and he
will try to put the maiden in play from the outside.
