Projections Dataset and Methodology

after this work was completed and used in the 2040 Plan Update, VEC provided an updated Regional, 2040
population total forecast of over 700,000. FAMPO will consider this new VEC forecast in its next Long Range Plan
Update.
As with the baseline data, the next step in the projected population and employment forecasts was to allocate them
spatially across the various TAZs within the local government boundaries. Again as with the baseline, this was done
in collaboration and consensus with local government staff and the other partners.
From this the data was loaded into the FAMPO travel demand model, and the outputs of that model showed was
run show the congestion deficiencies for the Needs and Constrained portions of the 2040 Long Range Plan Update.
